From the Head
A new school year has begun with energy, purpose and the warm sense of community that defines Byron. In classrooms and shared spaces, students are already asking ambitious questions, building new friendships and taking responsibility for their learning. Thank you to every family and colleague who has helped make the first weeks so positive.
Learning in action
Primary pupils explored how observation and evidence help scientists explain the natural world. In Secondary, Year 9 students compared different historical sources and debated how perspective shapes interpretation. Sixth Form students began their A level courses with specialist seminars focused on independent thinking and academic discussion.
Student voice
This fortnight, our Student Council representatives met to identify practical ways of strengthening participation across the school. Their first priorities include a student-led activities board, clearer opportunities for volunteering and regular consultation with each year group.
Beyond the classroom
The new programme of clubs and enrichment activities is under way. Students are taking part in basketball, football, drama, choir, creative arts, coding and debating. These activities create opportunities to discover interests, develop confidence and form friendships across year groups.
